The Council

The council plays a very important role in The Society of Imagine. They act as the primary governemnt; suggesting and voting on laws and rules, and acting as judges to cases. They also process complaints and hand out consequences to those who deserve it. The following is the process of the council, who is on it and how you may become apart of the staff, how to act during a meeting, and contact information along with dates, times, and instructions for filing complaints. First, however, are the times and current dates of the next meetings:

Mon. July 31, 1:30-2:30 P.M. PST, 3:30-4:30 ET

Mon. August 7, 1:30-2:30 P.M. PST, 3:30-4:30 ET

Mon. August 14, 1:30-2:30 P.M. PST, 3:30-4:30 ET

*Times and dates subject to change. Please check back for further updates.

Rules

We have a number of rules to assure that each meeting run in the set times, in an orderly fashion. If we find others do not abide by these rules, the council will become private allowing no observers, and you will just have to read about it. So please understand!

1. Do not talk out of turn. If you are an observer, please do not chat openly in the room during the middle of a meeting. Do not question when it is your turn to talk. You will be called upon when it is your time to speak. You may chat before then, and if you are not cooperative of this rule, then council meetings will become private, with only a select few to witness them, and you may read about them later.
2. Do not complain of our decisions. If you have a problem with the verdict of your complaint, you may re-submit it to the council where it will be decided by the queen. Do not ramble on about how unfair your justice was served.
3. Do not bring up a complaint not previously submitted. You may discuss general topics in the beginning, when it's open talk, but do not bring up personal issues at random. If you would like to have your complaint reviewed and your justice served, you MUST DO SO BEFOREHAND. Further down on this page there are more details.
4. Be respectful. That is a word within itself.

Process

Before the meeting begins, the head of the council, or one of their representatives, will open up the room and make a list of things to do, which they will hand to the reporting scribe who will be arriving shortly. The meeting will follow the same basic outline of events during the hour-long discussion. (PST time)

1. 1:15-1:29-Room will be opened. Scribe, the empress and emperor (or their representatives) and a few members of the council and observers arrive. Greetings and random chatter permitted.
2. 1:30-1:35-The meeting has come to an official opening. The head of the council calls the meeting and asks for silence and everyone's attention. The topics of discussion are listed for the meeting.
3. 1:36-1:55-General information about the realm is discussed. Technical glitches, planning upcoming events, etc. First empire news, provinces second, guild lastly.
4. 1:56-2:20-Complaints and justices are heard and acted upon.
5. 2:21-2:30-Last few topics are discussed. Those not finished are scheduled to be first for next week's meeting. Scribe repeats meeting, takes a few quotes (on her/his choice) and the room is closed. All are asked to leave the room by 2:30 P.M., though those who wish may stay.

He receives $hold_dollar100,000 per month, as he is involved in many time-consuming tasks for the good of the empire.

Empress: She, alongside the emperor, rules the Empire of Imagine SIM. As the creator, she must be involved in every inch of the making and running of the realm. They also set up a historical archive of all previous events and discussions of the Council. They do this for the good of their guild and the good of the empire's Council.

Royal Ambassador: The Royal Ambassador is in charge of spreading the word about Imagine SIM. The job cannot be applied for, it is rewarded with the council position. He/she has their own team of their chioce that engages in banner exchange programs, following WebRings, etc. He/she receives $hold_dollar10 for each person thineir team converts each week, for the good of the empire.

Dukes & Duchesses: The Dukes and Duchesses of the various provinces are in charge of controlling their own assigned part of the empire. These jobs are given by the emperor and empress along with an application. They also assist the Emperor and Empress with anything they might need, and have a large say in council matters. They receive a combined income of $hold_dollar30,000 per month, for the good of each province.

Princes & Princesses: Each prince and princess, relatives of the Emperor and Empress, also control each of the provinces, as well as aid their cyber parents with the empire as a whole. They are adopted members of the elite family, and work for the good of the provinces and the empire for $hold_dollar50,000 a month. They also have quite a say in council matters, though they are often younger than the dukes and duchesses.

Grand Guild Master: The Grand Guild Master's job is to keep the unity and peace within the guilds and shops. To monitor them and see that they are run properly. They set the example for every member of their guild. This job is for the good of the guilds and kingdom, for $15,000 per month. He/she have the semi-final word next to the emperor and empress in all guild and empire-related topics.

Masters of Guilds: They represent each of their guilds (knight, mage, artisan, scribe, minstrel, banker, merchant, and shopkeeper) in council matters, mainly for the guilds. They receive their set salary, but are required to attend meetings. As only middle and upperclassmen, they do not have a very huge big say in empire or province matters, but mainly make up the votes for the good of the guilds.
